1. General rules of Thumb: Don?t be an ASSHOLE!! And there is no "I" in League but there is in Dickhead!!
2. All State fishing and boating regulations apply. You are responsible for knowing the regulations that apply to the water that you are fishing in. Any fish presented that is in violation of state laws must be immediately released, and the team will forfeit that night's points.
(Example... if you catch 3 walleyes over 20", you can only have 2 in the live well, you will only be allowed to score 2 over 20", as at is the legal possession limit. Fish caught and photographed will not be allowed in excess of a legal possession limit.)
It is illegal to cull fish that have been reduced to possession.
We ONLY score to the legal possession or our league limit, whichever is lower.
3. 15 team limit for the tournament group in 2008. Two persons per team; subs are allowed. One of the original team members must be present each night. In the event that two teams combine on any given night, total points will be given to both teams.
4. Fishing time: 5:00pm - 9:00. All late starts must start from designated landing. All teams must be at designated landing by the set ending time or else they will be disqualified for the night. Timer boat is responsible to notify Board members of any late boats. One night per year you may be late less than 5 minutes, only once per season per boat.
5. No pre-fishing on the scheduled lake on the day of the tournament.
6. The rule on Weather... .Leave no one behind. Remember to use common sense and that you are fishing at your own risk.
7. Disqualification of night for any fish that is short, over limit, slot, or for any other state regulation violation.
8. Fish are measured in inches and the tails can be pinched.
9. Immediate release of any qualifying fish allowed with measurement and verification by an opposing team. Or a digital photo can be taken to verify the fish. The photo must have Date and Time and the fish has to be on league ruler.
10. The only 2 species of fish allowed to be scored dead are Trout and Salmon caught on Lake Superior. Muskie, Northern, Walleyes, and Bass cannot be scored dead!!! The use of live wells (with working aerators) is strongly encouraged. Any fish brought in on stringers of any kind do not count. Live wells can be checked at the request of any angler before the start of the night.
11. No double teaming/pooling/sharing/giving away to another team/etc. of fish during league hours. This applies to any two or more boats. No use of cell phones or marine radio to contact other non league boats for the purpose of gaining a fishing edge during league hours. (Ex: calling your buddies to find out where they are fishing, what kind of fish they are catching, and how many fish they are catching.)
12. Life jackets are required to be on anytime that your boat is above troll.
13. One hour of fishing = full night. No makeup.
14. All weeds and exotics must be removed from boats, motors, and trailers before leaving the landing.
15. Board of Directors makes all rule changes and league decisions. All league disputes will go through them and their decision is final. No rule changes allowed during season.
16. To reserve spot, all fees must be paid prior to The first night .
17. Any team violating tournament rules, and or state laws, will be disqualified for the night on the 1st offense and disqualified from the league for the season for the 2nd offense.
18. Scoring is as follows:
We will fish 10 Weeks and only your top 8 nights will be scored. Meaning you drop your 2 worst scoring nights.
Nightly positions are based on official fish species / length / points, plus bonuses for multiple species, limits, etc. All fish must be scored at the landing or verified on the water by another team or photos presented at the end of night. All scores and pictures must be in, within 30 minutes of the end of scoring to be counted towards standings. All protests must go through the Board of Directors and their word is final. All protests must be filed within 30 minutes of final scoring. End of Year - Team scores are sum of the team's top ten finishes based on the following Points Structure. League night is worth a total of 200 points. From there position points are given in decreasing 10 point increments. Ex: 1st = 200pts, 2nd = 190pts, 3rd = 180pts, and so on to 15th = 50pts. All Nightly ties: Both teams get equal placement points. Ex: Two teams tied for first, both get 200 pts. Next team in line gets 180pts.
Teams not scoring any fish will receive 50 points for participating. All teams must check in with the tournament director to get any points for attendance.
Tie Breaker for end of night prizes: A coin flip will decide winner of prize. The team with the longest fish will call the coin. End of year ties: 1st tie breaker = Largest single night score for the season.
2nd tie breaker = Highest scoring fish for the season.
3rd tie breaker = Coin toss.
Money that is left over will be dispersed by Board of Directors. End of the year balance will be zero.
19. Always practice good sportsmanship and honesty in the league. If you have a problem with that or don?t understand it, refer to rule #1!!!
20. As a member of the Arrowhead Tournament Trail Fishing League, or as a substitute participating along side with a member, it is understood that each individual is responsible for their own actions, and that the rest of the teams and its members/anglers cannot be held responsible for the actions or liability incurred by an individual. In short, we are not a corporation, and will not share the responsibility or the consequences of an irresponsible individual.
21. You may now keep the legal Minnesota limit of fish to take home with you, but may still only submit the tournament limit for scoring. Please have fish that you are not submitting for measuring separated from the catch that you will present to the scorer. You may keep species that are not listed in our rules.
